HMV makes changes to management
HMV has made a number of changes to its management structure, with more changes to come over the following weeks.
HMV supply chain manager Steve Napleton, who became commercial director in May 2010 with responsibility for all areas of product, will now focus exclusively on developing HMV's e-commerce, digital and ticketing business. The move reflects the growing importance of these channels, according to HMV.
Meanwhile, Gary Warren, who took on the newly-created role of managing director of content and talent at the HMV-owned Mama Group, last May is returning to once more head up the HMV product teams.
HMV says his return will mean that sales through HMV's stores in the UK and Ireland can be given maximum focus and support within the chain.
The moves follows the news last week that HMV Group is to close 60 of its HMV and Waterstone's stores during the next 12 months, after reporting poor results over Christmas.
HMV says that these closures – as well as other efficiencies announced last week – mean there will be further changes to head office teams in the weeks to come.
